In January of 2025, Meatleg Productions collaborated with “Chiefs Memedom” to produce version 1.0 of “KC Airwolf“. Version 1.0 was a celebration of the 2024-2025 season, and was released before the playoffs that ended with a third straight Super Bowl appearance.
In 2026, we reworked the animation and changed the theme of the video to be the eight-year story of the Mahomes’ Era calling it “KC Airwolf 2.0 – Chiefs Dynasty: Chapter One“
This page will highlight some of the experiments and the process of the collaboration.
In version 1.0, we used particle physics in Blender to create contrails as the air wrapped around the blimp as it traveled at mach speeds. For version 2.0, we experimented with improving it, and learned a lot about noise settings.
In version 2.0, we added more image and text replacement.
We decided to change the descent, so that the focus is in the distance. We also added sunbeams with particle physics.
We adjusted the light in the underground layer. We also improved the lamps to give the threads on the football definition.
The procedural sunbeams added to the depth of the room and the lighting.

In version 2.0 the sunbeams were animated to show the increasing speed of the air.
Version 1.0 was about one season, so we used a four-monitor scene to show highlights. Version 2.0 was about seven straight trips to the AFC championship so we doubled the amount of monitors.

Version 1.0 was about one season, so we used a three-monitor scene to parody MVP candidates. Version 2.0 highlighted our three-time Super Bowl MVP.
The ascent scene in version 1.0 was satisfying, but in version 2.0 we improved it with procedural sunbeams.
Version 2.0 had the following improvements:
1) video tracked into the monitors
2) GEHA field sign replacement
3) goal posts
Version 2.0 had the following improvements:
1) Ford logo replaced with FTR
2) GEHA field sign replacement
Version 2.0 increased the contrast and fluidity of the contrails around the airship.

Motion tracking over old footage from Airwolf was nearly as challenging as the drone footage.
